Michael J. Herring is a resident of Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Herring earned his B.A. degree in political science and government from Mississippi State University and his J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law. He founded and operates his own law firm, Herring Legal PLLC.[1]

Herring also served for three years as a member of the military police in the United States National Guard and for another four years as a second lieutenant in the United States Army.[2]

The election in Robbinsdale featured four at-large seats up for general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbents Mark Bomchill and Patsy Green ran against challengers Andrea Bejarano-Robinson, David Boone, Michael J. Herring, Jeff Houle, Pamela Lindberg and Ron Stoffel for the seats. Fellow board members Linda Johnson and Tom Walsh did not file for re-election.

Funding

Herring reported $1,000.00 in in-kind contributions, $600.00 in cash contributions and no expenditures during the election, which left him with $600.00 on hand according to Robbinsdale Area Schools.[3]

Endorsements

Herring received endorsements from the Robbinsdale Federation of Teachers and Service Employees International Union Local 284.[4][5]
