Meghan Scoggins is a Democratic candidate for District 28 of the Texas House of Representatives. The primary election took place on March 6, 2018. The general election is being held on November 6, 2018.

Biography

Meghan Scoggins studied business management in college. Scoggins's career experience includes working as the regional vice president of Legal Shield and as the Boeing Women in Leadership liaison with Texas Workforce Solutions.[1]

Elections for the Texas House of Representatives took place in 2018. An open primary election took place on March 6, 2018.[2] A primary runoff election took place on May 22, 2018. The general election was held on November 6, 2018. The candidate filing deadline was December 11, 2017.[3] Incumbent John Zerwas (R) and Meghan Scoggins (D) are running in the Texas House of Representatives District 28 general election.

“ This office has the responsibility to represent every member of this district, and the citizens of Texas as a whole. The responsibilities include advocating for the issues that touch their lives instead of personal interests.[6] ”

“ A legacy isn't found in statues or building named after someone. It's found in the deeds of the lives they helped improve. I would love to leave a better educated society, full of opportunity and potential.[6] ”
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
“ On a January day in 1986, I was sitting in my 2nd grade class watching the first launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger. The first teacher to travel into space was onboard, and schools across the country watched. The shuttle exploded on live television, to the shock and horror of millions.[6] ”
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
“ I worked at a mall kiosk that sold t-shirts that changed color in the sun and custom engraved license plate frames. I worked there for 8 months before the store closed.[6] ”
What happened on your most awkward date?
“ My date got appendicitis. I drive him to the hospital and stayed for hours. He was in surgery before his family arrived, so I got to explain to them what was happening.[6] ”
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
“ The Fourth of July, because it is a good reminder of what our Founding Fathers went through to create this nation.[6] ”
What is your favorite book? Why?
“ Road Trip Nation: A Guide to Discovering Your Path in Life It's a series of short essays detailing people's personal experiences that brought them to unexpected careers.[6] ”
If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?
“ Princess/General Leia Organa[6] ”

“ My dogs[6] ”
