Jim Lewis was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Ohio.[1] Lewis was defeated in the Republican primary by incumbent Brad Wenstrup.

Lewis attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in New York. He then served for six years as a Signal Corps officer. After his military service, he worked at Bell of Pennsylvania for ten years, until the company downsized. Lewis has served on the Clermont County Republican Central Committee since 2010, including two years on the executive committee, and formerly served on the West Clermont School Board.[2]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Brad Wenstrup (R) defeated William Smith (D) and Janet Everhard (D write-in) in the general election. Wenstrup defeated Jim Lewis in the Republican primary. Smith defeated Russ Hurley and Ronny Harrison Richards in the Democratic primary on March 15, 2016.[1]
