Allison ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 8. Allison ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. Jana Hill ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[10] Allison defeated Jana Hill in the general election.[11]

2010
Allison ran for re-election to the 8th District seat in 2010. He had no opposition in the July 20 primary. Allison defeated Jack Lance in the general election on November 2, 2010.[12]

In 2008 Allison was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives District 8. Allison (R) finished with 13,228 votes while his opponent Charles Jenkins (D) finished with 12,389 votes.[13] Allison raised $70,005 for his campaign fund.[14]
