David Lust is a former Republican member of the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 34 from 2016 to 2019. He was first appointed to the chamber on September 26, 2016, by Gov. Dennis Daugaard (R), to replace Dan Dryden (R).[1]

Lust previously represented House District 34 from 2006 to 2015. While in office, Lust served as state House majority leader.

Lust died on July 23, 2021, from a suspected heart attack.[2]

Lust won re-election in the 2012 election for South Dakota House of Representatives District 34. Lust ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 5 and won re-election in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4]

Lust ran for re-election to District 34 of the South Dakota House of Representatives. Lust ran against Dan Dryden and Debra Watson in the June 8 Republican primary. Lust and Dryden advanced with 1,898 and 1,432 votes, respectively.[5] Lust and Dryden defeated John Willman (D) and Devin Oliver (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[6]
