Travis Couture-Lovelady
Travis Couture-Lovelady is a former Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 110 from 2012 to November 29, 2015. He resigned to take a lobbying job with the NRA.[1]
Couture-Lovelady served as majority caucus chair from January 2015 to his resignation in November 2015.
Couture-Lovelady was appointed to serve as the campaign manager for U.S. Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R) in the 2014 election.[2]
Biography
Couture-Lovelady earned his Bachelor's from Fort Hays State University. His professional experience includes working on a family farm that his grandparents own, field director for Sen. Pat Roberts, legislative correspondent for then-Sen. Sam Brownback and Director of Communications for State Treasurer Ron Estes.[3]

Elections for the Kansas House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Travis Couture-Lovelady was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unopposed in the general election.[4][5]
2012
Couture-Lovelady won election in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 110. He was unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary and defeated Philip H. Martin (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[6][7]

The Kansas Policy Institute, Kansas’s "first free market think tank," releases its legislator scorecard as a part of its Kansas Freedom Index for Kansas state representatives and senators once a year. The Score Card gives each legislator a score from 1%-100% based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on specific issues which the Kansas Policy Institute thought were pro-limited government policies.[8]
