Brenda Leroux Babin (Democratic Party) was a member of the Terrebonne Parish School District in Louisiana, representing District 5. Babin assumed office in 2010.

Babin (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Louisiana State Senate to represent District 20. Babin lost in the primary on October 12, 2019.

Babin was a Democratic District 5 representative on the Terrebonne Parish School Board in Louisiana. She was first elected to the office in 2010. She won re-election in the general election on November 4, 2014.

All nine seats on the Terrebonne Parish School Board were up for election in 2014. Five of the seats saw contested races on November 4, 2014. Two of the races advanced to a general election on December 6, 2014, as no candidate received 50 percent plus one of the primary election votes in District 1 or 9.

In the primary election, District 1 incumbent Roosevelt "Rosey" Thomas (D) faced David L. Rockward (D) and Joe Thompson (D). Thomas and Thompson advanced to the general election. District 9 incumbent Hayes J. Badeaux (D) faced challengers Vicki Bonvillain (R) and Cally Yelverton Trosclair (I). Badeaux and Bonvillain advanced to the general election.

William "Bill" Simmons (D) challenged incumbent Brenda Leroux Babin (D) in District 5. L. P. Bordelon III (R), the District 6 incumbent, ran for re-election against Clyde F. Hamner (D). Wendy Wilson Billiot (R) sought to unseat District 7 incumbent Roger Dale DeHart (D).[1]

The following incumbents retained their seats by being elected without opposition: Gregory Harding (D) in District 2, Richard "Dicky" Jackson (D) in District 3, Debra "Debi" Benoit (R) in District 4 and Donald "Don" Duplantis (D) in District 8.[1]
