Sophia Vuelo
Sophia Vuelo is a judge for Position 15 of the Minnesota Second Judicial District. She assumed office in 2017. Her current term ends on January 4, 2027.
Vuelo ran for re-election for the Position 15 judge of the Minnesota Second Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
Vuelo earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and a J.D. from the Hamline University School of Law.[1]
At the time of her appointment to the Second District court, Vuelo was an attorney in private practice. Her professional experience includes work as the managing attorney at Catholic Charities, a special assistant county attorney for Ramsey County, an assistant public defender for the Second Judicial District, and an assistant city attorney for the city of Rochester. Vuelo has served as the vice president of the Hmong American Bar Association and a member of the board of directors of the Collaborative Community Law Initiative.[2]
