Biography

Tiffany Burks was born in Dallas, Texas. She earned a high school diploma from Skyline High School and a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993. She also earned a J.D. from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1997. Her career experience includes working as an assistant district attorney.

I have dedicated my entire career to public service. As an Assistant District Attorney since 1997 who promoted to the level of Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division, I bring over 20 years of experience as a prosecutor, having prosecuted hundreds of cases, met with even more victims of crime, and worked closely with law enforcement agencies.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• Leadership - a leader with a clear vision who will create and nurture other leaders.
• A unifier who can facilitate positive relations between the community and law enforcement

My parents are my heroes. They taught all six of their children the importance of education, the value of a strong work ethic, and an appreciation to treat everyone with dignity and respect.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

This office requires honesty, integrity, fairness, a sense of justice, dignity and respect toward others and a 360 degree leader mentality.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

Experience, dedication, strong work ethic and leadership.

What legacy would you like to leave?

A criminal justice system that is fair and works fairly for every citizen.
