Expand all | Collapse all

I have channeled my own experiences with flooding in my home to advocate for solutions that bring relief to our community. As an environmentalist, I am committed to fight climate change and the threat to our region. I am a public servant of 16 years focusing on good governance, infrastructure investments and environmental justice to protect our neighborhoods from flooding and protect our waterways from polluters.
  • Strengthen infrastructure investments to ensure that our region is resilient to Climate Change and can continue to protect our waterways from polluters and protect our neighborhoods from flooding.
  • Champion environmental justice and advocate for equitable inclusion of diverse communities in our infrastructure investments and economic opportunities to work and do business in the District.
  • Prioritize enterprise resilience to lead with innovation and fiscal responsibility to our burdened taxpayers in maintaining our financial stability as we face big challenges in flood mitigation, resource management, and building community trust.
My priorities include

1) Infrastructure investments: expansion of green infrastructure programs, the completion of the Deep Tunnel project that will expand our flood retention capacity to 19 Billion gallons of stormwater.

2) Environmental Justice: Continue to support the programming of our Environmental Justice Division and the funding of our Community Partnership Councils. Affirming our commitment to our Affirmative Action policies and an expansion of our Small Business Enterprise and the Mentor Protégé program.

3) Enterprise Resilience- alleviate the burden on taxpayers by supporting polluters pay model, evaluate revenue opportunities in water reuse. Expand community engagement to build trust.
