The Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board is a judicial disciplinary agency in Illinois charged with initiating, receiving and investigating complaints concerning judicial misconduct. The board files complaints with the Illinois Courts Commission.[1]
Organization
The board is made up of nine members: two circuit judges, three lawyers and four members of the public. The judges are selected by the state supreme court; the lawyers and members of the public are selected by the governor. The board members have four-year terms with an eight-year limit.[1]
