Chesley earned his bachelor's degree in public administration from the University of Southern California. He played for two years with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. Chesley proceeded to work as a healthcare professional for two decades after his football career concluded.[2]

As a leader, Delmar Chesley will find the most effective solutions and explore beyond the status quo. He understands the modern challenges that plague a Community such as sustainability, healthcare, infrastructure, urban development, social policy, affordable housing, and governance.
