Magnus Scott Sr. was a Democratic candidate in the February 14, 2012 special election for the Oklahoma State Senate, District 20. The special election was called to fill the vacancy created when David Myers (R) passed away after a battle with pneumonia.[1]

Scott was defeated by Ann Griffin (R) in the special election on April 3, 2012. Griffin won the Republican primary on February 14, 2011. The race took place in the state's new legislative districts.[2][3]
