Campaign themes

2014

Spencer's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Education

  • Excerpt: "The state has a responsibility to find the dollars to overcome our short fall for education. If we do not have an adequate educational system, our economy will not grow as it could."

The Economy

  • Excerpt: "Our number one priority is to improve the standard of living of all Idahoans so that the economy will be healthier."

Equality

  • Excerpt: "Equal wages, adequate medical care, right to work, right of place to live, rights to the protection of the Constitution of the United State, and their place in society are all rights everyone is entitled to. We all have the right to safely and legally own legal guns for hunting, sport, and protection."

Climate Change

  • Excerpt: "Even if there is a natural cycle of climate change, we can still have the opportunity to lessen our dependence on the earth providing everything in abundance and help save it for future generations. It is up to each of us and all of us."

Infrastructure

  • Excerpt: "Big government is not the solution to these difficulties, but can be the leader in discovering ways to improve the transportation system and thus the roads and bridges. If elected officials don’t become leaders in innovative ways to improve the system, we will all be the victims of the decaying infrastructure."
