My name is Ann P.D. Gleason and I’m running to serve the people of Georgia’s House District 158. Over ten years ago, I moved to the city of Millen in Jenkins County from Savannah where I was reared. Although I am a Georgian, much of my schooling and work experience took me outside of our state.

  • Georgia expanding Medicaid allows for access to healthcare which is a necessity and not a privilege.
  • Increasing Rural Internet access not only betters education but it also allows for telemedicine and relocation of industry into our counties.
  • Fair Elections are not just about personal issues but job growth issues.
Expanding Medicaid in Georgia, Increasing Rural Internet access in HD 158's counties, Getting the state behind rural solar energy
Core responsibilities of someone elected to this office: the individual must have an overarching plan to better the area as opposed to just helping when problems occur, put this area's interest above all other interests in conflict with this area's best interest, keep an open line of communication with all the constituents and not just a few constituents, be willing to leave office if the individual cannot fulfill any of the above three responsibilities.
My first formal job was as a salesperson at an antique and linen store in downtown Savannah, Georgia. When I was 14, I wished greatly to attain job experience. But, my Mom needed my help with her small business that summer. When I was 15, I finally had the opportunity to work apart from my Mom's company. Since I was under 16, my Mom had to give consent for my working. The job was and intended for the three summer months between the end and the start of the school years.

While it can be beneficial for state legislators to have had previous experience in government or politics, it can be very unbeneficial for state legislators to have had previous experience in government or politics. Whether it is beneficial or unbeneficial regards the individual running to become a state legislator.
The state of Georgia's greatest challenges over the next decade concern addressing the great disparities between much of rural Georgia and Metro Atlanta.
I believe redistricting should be for neither the Republican Party nor the Democratic Party to decide how lines are drawn to distinguish districts.
