I am a husband of 34 years, father of four, grandfather of two as well as a small business owner and member of Legacy Christian Church here in Olathe, Kansas. All four of my children attend(ed) Olathe public schools. Some of you may know me as the portrait studio guy. Many more of you will know me as the real estate guy and others as the real estate investor guy. Olathe has been very good for my family and I so now it is time to pay my community back.
Mental healthcare. From January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2019 we lost 58 citizens in the City of Olathe to suicide. Sadly, my daughter was one of those. We had insurance. We had other resources. And yet we simply could not find adequate care for her needs in the State of Kansas. And when we did, insurance would want her out three days after a suicide attempt.

Folks, we can treat our most vulnerable citizens better.
Single moms everywhere. I was raised through my teenage years by a single mom. It takes incredible heart to work all day and provide the nurturing each child requires. How exhausting that must be. (I'm not forgetting you single dads, either.) Yet the sacrifices made are worth healthy, strong adults. Our culture celebrates so many people who get paid millions for their sacrifices. I celebrate men and women everywhere who give up their desires to make their loved ones' lives better.
And elected official must have the highest integrity and a consistency to what he or she represents. Great communication skills are also a huge plus as constituents have the right to be heard and answered.
History has shown that I am quick to learn, consistent in my beliefs and that I possess a good old fashioned, American work ethic. Communication is also a point of emphasis with me.
There are so many that have made a difference for me in my life. The Bible. The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. And quite a few others. I'm an avid reader. Books offer so much insight into the world.
How can you have experience until you start? I have experience in business, working with people and solving problems. Should the voters choose me in these upcoming elections they will find me to be a quick study and a tenacious worker. And yes, experience can really help in any endeavor. And I will draw on my own experiences to help speed the learning curve.
So much depends on what we see from COVID-19 over the course of the next 12 months. Our economy has taken quite a hit since March of 2020. There will be much needed to be done to restore our small businesses and our government's ability to provide basic services.
Absolutely. Look, I'm not talking about betraying our basic principles. I am talking about understanding where the other party is coming from and seeking common ground. I believe it was President Reagan who said that if he couldn't get all he wanted now he'd take what he could get and get the rest later. Without common ground and understanding, we have no way of knowing how/when to move forward.
