The city of Charlotte, North Carolina, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A primary took place on September 15, 2015. A primary runoff took place on October 6, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was July 17, 2015.[2] In the mayoral race, incumbent Dan Clodfelter faced Councilman Michael D. Barnes, Roderick Davis, Councilman David L. Howard, DeJawon Joseph and Jennifer Roberts in the Democratic primary. Because no candidate received more than 40 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters - Clodfelter and Roberts - met in a primary runoff election, which Roberts won.[3] Edwin B. Peacock III defeated Scott Stone in the Republican primary.[4] Roberts defeated Peacock in the general election.[5][6]
