Campaign themes

2015

Zech Artis' website highlighted the following campaign themes:[2]

Housing

  • Excerpt: "I will work with City Council to direct our permitting office to put backyard cottages and mother-in-law apartments on the fast track for permitting. This will allow private homeowners to participate in increasing low and middle income housing while having an opportunity to gain rental income to help defer property tax and cost of living increases. I will also work to reduce the cost of curb cuts so homeowners can get their cars off the street."

Traffic

  • Excerpt: "I will work with Metro Transit to create more East West routes. I will also identify neighborhood transit needs and work with Metro Transit to add additional routes using smaller neighborhood buses."

Port of Seattle

  • Excerpt: "I will work with the Port Commission and the shipping companies to bring them back to Seattle. We cannot afford to continue this drain on our economy. That lost revenue to the city is being taken from you. Our longshoremen are now traveling to Tacoma for work. This means more cars on the road and more congestion."[3]
