Although city council elections in Durham are officially nonpartisan, Reaves identifies as a progressive Democrat.[1]

Reaves earned an A.A. from Caldwell Community College and a B.S. in political science with a concentration in public administration from Appalachian State University. Her experience includes work as an intern for Transforming Hope Ministries and as a community educator for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.[1][2]

It is critical that everyone has equal access to a home that is affordable to them.
