Munoz's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Education:

  • I have been married for 22 years to an educator. I have seen firsthand the impact a quality education has in allowing those with determination to break the cycle of poverty and improve their circumstances. I have also seen what a poor education does to impede progress.
  • In Santa Fe I will continue to work with other legislators to improve education standards for our youth, our young adults and anyone seeking vocational training, including workers who want a career change and need to further their education to take advantage of new opportunities.
  • For Gallup to be successful, we must be prepared to achieve and master whatever prospects are available. Education is key to this preparation, and I will ensure that Gallup and other communities in the Senate District 4 have the programs that allow people to grow, progress and achieve their goals in education.

Quality of Life:

  • I am committed to improving the quality of life for every one of our kids by improving our infrastructure, addressing challenges with education and finding every opportunity for them to succeed.

Economic Growth:

  • As a lifelong resident of Gallup, I have seen our community in times of prosperity and difficulties. The economic issues we all face today may be some of the most significant challenges each of us will encounter in our lives and will shape our children’s futures. Because of the lessons my father instilled in me, I appreciate the importance of nurturing small businesses and fostering economic growth to the benefit of everyone in our community. In Santa Fe I will continue my dedication to create a road map that provides for everyone in the district and helps the City of Gallup achieve financial success through hard work and opportunity.[8]

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in New Mexico

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of New Mexico scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
