The Georgia Set Salaries of State Legislators Amendment was not on the ballot in Georgia as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 8, 2022.[1]
This amendment would have done the following:[2]
- prohibit the legislature from increasing the salaries of state legislators;
- set the salaries of state legislators to be 60% of the median household income in the state as determined by the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Labor and adjust the salary levels at the beginning of each new term;
- allow the legislature to provide by law for salary supplementation for legislators serving as elected officers; and
- state that the limits on legislative salaries in the constitution do not prevent the legislature from providing by law for reimbursements, allowances, or other forms of compensation besides salaries.

To put a legislatively referred constitutional amendment before voters, a two-thirds (66.67%) vote is required in both the Georgia State Senate and the Georgia House of Representatives.
On March 16, 2022, the state House approved House Resolution 842 proposing this amendment by a vote of 136-33, with 10 not voting or absent. The measure was not passed in the Senate before the legislature adjourned its 2022 session on April 5, 2022.[1]
