The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 8, 2014. Jonathan E. Gallo was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent William R. Outten was unopposed in the Republican primary. Outten defeated Gallo and Gordon Gene Smith (L) in the general election.[1][2][3]
