Function

The 2013 Hawaii House rules described the function of this committee as outlined below.

Committee on Human Services, whose scope shall be those programs relating to financial assistance, medical assistance, vocational rehabilitation, social welfare services, and the general well-being of the state's elderly and youth, including juvenile correctional services.[1][2]
