At the age of 21, I was a privateer on a commissioned warship. We fought pirates with pistols and knives in the middle of storms at sea. Politics has been a lifelong passion, but I am tired of the two-party system. We will not see our society achieve its maximum potential within our lifetime while chained in the duopoly of "D versus R."
Social reform, tax reform, and international trade for the purpose of resolving poverty. Poverty is an inefficiency within our capitalist economic system. Government is tasked with responding to the symptoms of poverty by the people. We can readjust our approach to poverty as a society for greater social and economic benefit.
I am making my own path. I look up to people who are strong enough to do the same.
To better understand my political philosophy read the Anti-Oedipus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia, by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, or watch the film Starship Troopers, based on the book by Robert A. Heinlein.
Personal courage and candor to know who you are as a person and what influences brought you to where you are. Understanding "why" we are in office.
My ability to work with difficult individuals from diverse backgrounds. As a corrections officer I worked with child molesters and serial killers... I think I am ready for Olympia, Washington politics...
"The Lieutenant Governor is to act as Governor if the Governor is removed from office or is unable to perform the duties of the office, to be the presiding officer of the Senate, to serve as acting Governor when the Governor is absent from the state, and to discharge other duties as prescribed by law.

The Lieutenant Governor serves by tradition as Chair of the Senate Rules Committee. The Lieutenant Governor is a member of the State Finance Committee, State Capitol Committee, the Washington Health Care Facilities Authority, the Washington Higher Education Facilities Authority, and the State Medal of Merit Committee."
A legacy of opportunity accelerated for everyone
The first historical event I remember happening, was the Waitsburg town flood of 1996. I was 13-years old.
My first job was a paper carrier for the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin at the age of 12. Carrying papers taught me independence and the importance of news and information.
Stranger in a strange land, by Robert A. Heinlein. In the book, Robert crafts a compelling character driven argument as to why the United States Coast Guard is the best.
Finding a meaningful purpose outside of politics
The governor is responsible for leading the people of our state through change, while securing our history for the future.
The line-item veto is an appropriate check to balance the spending of a legislature. It is useful for trimming budgets that have passed the legislature with excessive ear marks or pork barrel spending.
The ideal relationship would be like that between a captain and their crew.
Washington is number one. We have the coolest industries and eco-diversity.
Integrating government services with new technologies, sustainability, and reducing waste.
