The city of El Paso, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on May 9, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 27, 2015. Five of the eight city council seats were up for election, including Districts 1, 5, 6 and 8. In District 8, incumbent Cortney Niland defeated Joshua Dagda.[1][2]
