The Labor & Commerce Committee is a standing committee of the Alaska State Senate.

Per the Uniform Rules, committees of the Alaska State Senate are assigned by the Committee on Committees. The Committee on Committees is appointed and chaired by the presiding officer and has five members. Committees are assigned after each election. What constitutes a quorum for committees is not defined.[1]

Function

According to Uniform Rule 20-a, the Health & Social Services Committee has jurisdiction over:

the programs and activities of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development relating to labor-management relations, industrial safety, unemployment compensation, and workers' compensation and the programs and activities of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development that do not primarily relate to local government services or functions in the unorganized borough.[2][3]
