Laura Fortier
Laura Fortier was a 2015 candidate for District 2 of the Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee. The general election took place on August 6, 2015.
Biography
Fortier holds a masters in social work and has experience in geriatric (aging life) case management. She also worked as a registered nurse and was the founder and president of Nurses for Better Care.[1]

The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. A runoff election took place on September 10, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 2, candidates included Laura Fortier, DeCosta Hastings, Danavan Hylton, Carrie Searcy and Robert "Bobby" Stockard. Hastings and Stockard advanced to the runoff election.[2] Hastings defeated Stockard in the runoff election.[3] Incumbent Frank Harrison was term-limited. He ran for election to an at-large seat.[4]
