Mignon Willis has a history of working with a variety of service organizations and has devoted her professional life to service for senior citizens. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, she is the wife of Dr. Bill Willis of Winston, Georgia. Mignon is a founding member of the John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation, Inc. and serves as its Treasurer. Ms. Willis is a graduate of Whittier College, with a BS in Biology, and a MS in Gerontology from the University of Southern CA. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a lifetime member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and is affiliated with The Pierians, Inc., a nationally recognized cultural arts organization. She is a Georgia Life & Health Insurance agent and a Senior Living Advisor with A Place for Mom, Inc.
After a lifetime career advocating for senior care and supportive services, I am particularly passionate about aging care policies.
The late Congressman John Lewis was influential in my decision to seek office as a State Representative. In his many speeches he often had a call to action to "Speak Up and Speak Out" and to get into "Good Trouble/Necessary Trouble". In the current political climate, I believe that it is my time to speak up and speak out and represent the voices of my District 64.

She is a Georgia Life & Health Insurance agent and a Senior Living Advisor with A Place for Mom, Inc.

Mignon is seeking office in order to help do a better job of meeting the needs of the citizens of District 64. She will concentrate on goals such as bringing more job opportunities to our residents by promoting small business development; holding down taxes; sustaining the highest quality of education; and encouraging efficiency in government services.
  • Mignon Willis will fight for Voter Access, to include: Mobile Voting Precincts to Assist Seniors & the Disabled. Polling locations that are stable, convenient, and equitable to voters so that registered voters don't have to wait hours to cast their ballot. She believes that postage for mail-in ballots should be free!
  • Mignon Willis will advocate for senior citizens, to include caregiver support, affordable housing and access to services in District 64!
  • Mignon Willis comes from a long line of educators. She believes that our children deserve support from cradle to career. She will fight to expand broadband service throughout District 64 as many children in rural areas struggled over the last two years because of inadequate broadband access.
Mignon Willis has been following House Bill 1531, introduced in GA State Legislature. This bill attempts to loosen caregiving standards for our seniors in Assisted Living and Nursing Homes. What does that mean to Georgia residents? It means that our loved ones who are the most vulnerable will have less care from Healthcare Workers, which is not right! She will fight not to reduce but to tighten those regulations!
My dear friend, the late Congressman John Lewis, always said to "Speak up and Speak Out and to get into Good Trouble, Necessary Trouble!" Now is the time for me to get into Necessary Trouble and to Speak Up and Speak Out! In these stressful, uncertain times we need to have our voices heard, understood, and represented. These are times when the needs of our neighbors and our families are many and must be met. Congressman Lewis often said, “We all live in the same house. We all must be part of the effort to hold down our little house. When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just - do something about it. Say something. Have the courage. Have the backbone. Get in the way. Walk with the wind. It's all going to work out." And this is why I am running for office, to represent District 64.
