The New Mexico Capital Expenditures for Libraries, Bond Question B was on the November 4, 2014 ballot in New Mexico as a legislatively referred bond question, where it was approved. The measure authorized the issuance and sale of $11 million in general obligation bonds to make capital expenditures for academic, public school, tribal and public library resource acquisitions.[1]

Bond Question B was sponsored in the New Mexico Legislature by Sen. Carlos Cisneros (D-6) as Senate Bill 53.

The official ballot text appeared as follows:[1]

The 2014 Capital Projects General Obligation Bond Act authorizes the issuance and sale of library acquisition bonds. Shall the state be authorized to issue general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed eleven million dollars ($11,000,000) to make capital expenditures for academic, public school, tribal and public library resource acquisitions and provide for a general property tax imposition and levy for the payment of principal of, interest on and expenses incurred in connection with the issuance of the bonds and the collection of the tax as permitted by law?

Bond Question B was placed on the ballot via Senate Bill 53, also known as the 2014 Capital Projects General Obligation Bond Act. SB 53 also placed Bond Question A and Bond Question C on the 2014 general election ballot. On February 16, 2014, the New Mexico Senate unanimously approved the act.[3] Likewise, the measure was unanimously approved in the New Mexico House of Representatives on February 19, 2014.[4] Gov. Susana Martinez (R) signed the bill on March 11, 2014.[5]
