Three of the seven seats on the Round Rock Independent School District school board were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. Only the race for Place 7 was contested. The incumbent chose not to file for re-election, and Mason Moses defeated Tony Pitts for the open seat. Incumbents Nikki Gonzales and Chad Chadwell won re-election without opposition in Place 1 and Place 2, respectively.[1]

The November 4, 2014, general election in Round Rock Independent School District featured five seats up for election. In the Place 1 race, incumbent Claudio Cruz faced a challenge from Nikki Gonzales. Place 3 incumbent Diane Cox ran for re-election against challenger Bryan Black. Since Place 5 incumbent Catherine Hanna did not file for re-election, Paul K. Emerson, Suzi David and Allen McKee competed for her seat. Place 6 incumbent Paul J. Tisch faced a challenge from Tony A. Pitts. Place 4 incumbent Terri Romere ran unopposed.

Funding

Candidates must file reports with the Texas Ethics Commission or the appropriate county clerk. They must disclose the amount of each contribution (or the value and nature of any in-kind contribution), the name and address of the individual or political committee making the contribution and the date of the contribution. Filers must also report all expenditures, including the date of an expenditure, the name and address of the person to whom the expenditure is made and the purpose of the expenditure.[2]
