R.A. Galan
R.A. Galan (No party preference) (also known as Skip) ran for election to the Louisiana State Senate to represent District 10. Galan was disqualified from the primary scheduled on October 14, 2023.
In 2023, Judge Christopher Cox III disqualified Galan after ruling he did not file his 2021 tax returns.[1]
In 2019, Judge Stephen Grefer disqualified Galan after ruling he did not file his 2014 tax returns.[2]

Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.
