A vote about whether to recall Richard Ruff from his position as an elected official on the board of the Hopland Public Utilities District took place on August 4, 2009 in Mendocino County for voters in the Hopland Public Utilities District.[1][2]
Richard Ruff was recalled in the election. He was replaced by Bruce A. Nicholas, who was the only candidate to run for the seat that became vacant when Ruff was recalled.
Two other members of the board of the Hopland Public Utilities District (Peni Goings and James Healy) were also targeted for recall. However, they resigned from their seats on the board before the election and therefore, no vote was held on whether to recall them.
