Robert E. Houdeshell
Robert E. Houdeshell was a Republican candidate for District 13 of the Colorado House of Representatives. The general election is on November 2. Colorado House District 13[1] encompasses Clear Creek, Gilpin, and eastern Boulder Counties.
About
Robert was born and raised in Northwest Ohio to Shirley and Donald Houdeshell. He graduated Carey High School in 1984 and Northwestern Business College (Lima, OH) in 1986. With a degree in computer technology, Robert began his professional career at Marathon Oil Company. Robert Houdeshell was a 15-year veteran of Microsoft product development and implementation.[2] He is a partner at Njevity, Inc., an information technology, networking and business solutions provider based in Aurora, Colorado[3] Njevity provides analysis, recommendation and implementation of accounting, finance and customer relationship software. After leaving mainframe computer operations in 1992, Robert worked in such notable companies as Solomon Software, Made2Manage, FRx Software (a Microsoft Company) and AccuNet. In 2005, Robert started his first company, New Frontiers Consulting, Inc., where he provided development expertise on a project for the US Department of Interior (Office of Surface Mining). Robert has worked in product development, consulting and business development roles. In 2006, Robert founded the International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners (IAMCP – Colorado), where he served as president from 2007 to 2008[4], bringing in many new partners and conducting many successful events for IAMCP.[5] He has provided expert testimony to Harvard Business School business studies for Dr. Marco Iansiti.[6] Robert graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree with a 3.715/4.0 GPA (Magna Cum Laude).[7]
Campaign themes
Houdeshell is campaigning on a platform of less spending, less taxation and re-prioritizing the Colorado Budget.[8] In June 2010, the Republican Liberty Caucus endorsed Houdeshell.[9]
In his September 2010 campaign letter, Houdeshell stated he would re-prioritize appropriations and restore the 250 to 300 million dollars that was taken out of the General Fund in the “FASTER Shell Game”.[10] He would also reverse the punitive oil & gas regulations that were implemented in 2009.[11]

Houdeshell was defeated in the November 2 general election by incumbent Democrat Claire Levy.[12][13]
