- Excerpt: "Many of the problems facing our schools are directly attributable to a loss of local control. A top-down “one size fits all” approach has been a tremendous burden to public education. The emphasis on high-stakes testing and copious data collection should be abandoned in favor of teacher-driven education. It’s time to put an end to unnecessary mandates in our schools and promote freedom in education."
Promote fiscal responsibility
- Excerpt: "Fiscal restraint and disciplined spending is not an impossible task. It only takes the right people to do the job. Before we put our state further into debt, areas should be identified where savings can be made. I will look at every expenditure that comes across my desk in terms of a cost-benefit analysis. Elections for the Delaware House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 8, 2014. Sean M. Lynn defeated Ralph Leroy Taylor, Jr. in the Democratic primary, while Samuel G. Chick was unopposed in the Republican primary. Lynn defeated Chick in the general election.[2][3][4][5]

Chick ran in the 2012 election for Delaware House of Representatives District 31. Chick ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 11, 2012 and was defeated by incumbent Darryl Scott in the general election on November 6, 2012.[6]
