T'wina Nobles is a wife, mother of four, former small business owner, an educator and mentor, and an elected official on the University Place School Board. Currently serving as President and CEO of the Tacoma Urban League, T'wina has nearly 15 years of experience in education as an instructor, PTA leader and School Board member.

Education has always been central to T'wina's life and she believes strongly in giving back to the community that helped her succeed to where she is today. Shortly after relocating to Joint Base Lewis McChord, T'wina attended the University of Puget Sound, where she earned her undergraduate degree as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching. She worked as an instructor for Metropolitan Development Council's College Bound program at Stadium High School and Lincoln High School, which supported student leaders as they prepared for life after high school. • Quality Education and Ensuring Equity in Remote Learning
  • Economic Recovery and Supporting Small Businesses
  • Being Available and Accountable to the Community
As we continue to navigate this pandemic and the remote learning environment, we must ensure that all students and families have the resources they need to be successful. As a University Place School Board Director and President of the Tacoma Urban League, T'wina has worked since March to get laptops/headphones into the hands of students, and to expand broadband access in the community. T'wina is proud to be endorsed by the Washington Education Association and AFT Washington, and will collaborate with these organizations, educators, and other experts to ensure all students have access to an equitable education.

Another key component of navigating this pandemic is supporting our small businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and we must ensure they have the resources they need to recover economically from this pandemic. As the President of the Tacoma Urban League, T'wina has helped small business navigating applying for PPP funding and finding additional funding sources, worked to distribute PPE so that businesses were able to reopen safely, and provided critical assistance on how to pivot a service model.

In Olympia, T'wina will continue to prioritize serving the community and meeting critical needs as we navigate this pandemic.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Washington

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of Washington scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
