I am a Colorado native, adopted at six and a half by two loving parents who gave me the stability to overcome a challenging early childhood marked by hunger, loneliness, and other hardships. These experiences have inspired my dedication to serving others, particularly in helping children navigate similar challenges and supporting parents who are facing mental health issues, substance abuse, and economic difficulties.

I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Mineral and Energy Economics at the Colorado School of Mines. Over the past five years, I have built a career as an auditor, working with several accounting firms. I hold a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Denver, and I earned my CPA designation in 2020, which I maintain through continuing education in accounting courses.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring Colorado’s great outdoors through snowboarding, hiking, and mountain biking. I am actively involved with the American Conservation Coalition, where I promote environmental stewardship, and I serve my community through Mission Hills Church, specifically in the Young Adults and Middle School Ministries.
  • Smart Spending, Affordable Living: I am committed to guiding Arapahoe County’s future with a focus on fiscal responsibility by targeting cuts to ineffective programs and administrative costs, while strengthening initiatives that uplift our residents and reverse recent negative trends. My CPA background equips me to make sound financial decisions, allowing residents to keep their TABOR refunds and have a say in any proposed tax changes. In today’s challenging budget environment—strained by high inflation and rising living costs—I will use my financial expertise to improve the county’s economic policies, promoting growth and better wages for our working community.
  • Housing and Wellness: Our County faces growing challenges like homelessness, crime, and declining mental health. Our current mental health services fall short, costing us significantly. I’m committed to reassessing our programs & investing in initiatives that address the root issues. I’ll also work to improve the Sheriff’s office by addressing understaffing & poor financial management to build a safer, better-prepared community. I seek to establish shelters with essential services to help individuals transition to permanent housing. I’ll tackle high insurance and regulatory costs that push developers toward luxury homes instead of affordable housing. The County Jail should no longer be our primary homeless shelter or rehab facility.
  • Infrastructure Improvement: I am committed to tackling our $316 million infrastructure deficit, where 41% of roads are in "poor" or "very poor" condition. Previous commissioners delayed projects to balance the budget, but I will prioritize managing our resources to avoid backlogs. To support our growing population, I’ll improve roadways, expand mass transit, and implement effective land use codes. We should have short commute times and safe streets for bikers and pedestrians. I will also advocate for a strong water plan to reduce reliance on the Denver Basin Aquifers and boost water efficiency. Supporting a balanced energy future, I aim to leverage wind, solar, and responsibly utilize oil and gas reserves.
Transportation, fiscally responsible budgets without routine tax increases, water conservation, affordable living, skills training, life skills for youth, and well-managed adoption and human services.
The role of County Commissioner is unique and essential because it operates at the intersection of state and local governance, directly impacting the day-to-day lives of residents. Commissioners make crucial decisions on budget allocations, public safety, infrastructure, and social services that align with state policies while addressing the specific needs of the community. This office ensures that local voices are represented in state matters, serving as a bridge between residents and larger governmental structures. Their oversight shapes sustainable growth and economic stability for the county and, ultimately, the state.
Books: "The Conservative Heart" by Arthur C. Brooks; “Economics in One Lesson” by Henry Hazlitt; “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand
Film: "The Pursuit of Happyness" staring Will Smith; "It’s a Wonderful Life" starring James Stewart; "The Blind Side" starring Sandra Bullock; "Erin Brockovich" staring Julia Roberts
Integrity, a strong work ethic, and humility. They should excel at building relationships, be patient, and listen actively.
Patience and a sense of humor, strong character, quick to learn, friendly, easygoing, and a skilled problem solver.
This is a full-time role requiring a strong focus on the needs of both district constituents and the entire county. It demands fiscal responsibility, good judgment, and the stamina and commitment to meet regularly with constituents and make tough decisions.
I envision a vibrant county that attracts businesses of all sizes, where children can play freely in safe neighborhoods, where walking your dog at night feels secure, and where everyone can enjoy their golden years surrounded by a supportive community. My goal is to create an environment that fosters growth, safety, and well-being for all residents.
The first event was the death of Ronald Reagan. I was on a family vacation in Missouri and the town was silent and sad when the news broke.
I was a summer camp counselor for Foothills Park and Recreation for the Summer and Christmas Breaks in 2014 and 2014.
My favorite book growing up was the "Harry Potter" series because I could relate to the orphaned Harry Potter and enjoyed the powerful message of bravery and dedication to family and friends. As an adult, I enjoy any action-adventure books that keep me on the edge of my seat, allowing me to escape into thrilling stories filled with excitement and challenges.
One lesser-known power of the County Commissioner is the ability to influence land use and zoning decisions, which directly shape local economic development, housing availability, and community character. Commissioners can also play a crucial role in intergovernmental relationships, collaborating with state agencies to address local issues like transportation and environmental protection. Additionally, they have oversight of local health and human services, which means they can directly impact public health initiatives, emergency preparedness, and social services that many residents rely on for support.
While having previous experience in government or politics can be helpful for a County Commissioner, newcomers bring valuable insights and fresh ideas that can invigorate local governance. Their diverse backgrounds—from business to community service—allow them to approach challenges with creativity and practicality. These individuals often challenge conventional thinking, promoting change that reflects the community's needs. Embracing new perspectives can lead to a more dynamic and effective government that better serves all residents.
For a County Commissioner, key skills and expertise include strong leadership, effective communication, and financial acumen. Understanding budgeting and resource management is crucial for making informed decisions. Additionally, having a background in community engagement can help in addressing constituents' needs and fostering collaboration. Problem-solving skills are also essential for navigating complex issues, while knowledge of local government operations can aid in efficiently implementing policies. Ultimately, a balance of practical experience and a commitment to public service will greatly enhance effectiveness in this role.
The County Commissioner’s office is unique and vital to local government because it serves as the direct link between residents and government policies. Commissioners address local needs, prioritize community issues, and manage essential services like public safety, infrastructure, and health. Their ability to make decisions that reflect the community’s values and challenges ensures that local governance is responsive and accountable. This role empowers citizens by giving them a voice in how their county operates and evolves.
Transparency is essential in our democracy. Government spending should be carefully scrutinized, not rebranded as 'investments' to justify waste, nor assumed to be more helpful simply because more is spent. We need to conduct comprehensive audits of existing government contracts, assess their effectiveness, and renegotiate when necessary to ensure taxpayer funds are used wisely and responsibly.
