Stephen M. Brewer (b. February 10, 1948) is a former Democratic member of the Massachusetts State Senate, representing the Worcester, Hampden, Hampshire and Middlesex district from 1996 to 2015. Brewer did not seek re-election in 2014.
Brewer served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1989 to 1996. He also served as member and chair of the Barre Board of Selectmen; an aide for Massachusetts Senator Robert Wetmore; and member of the Democratic Town Committee and Barre Parks and Recreation Committee..
Biography
Brewer earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1971 and his M.A. from Assumption College in 1974. His professional experience includes working as a laborer.[1]

Brewer won re-election in the 2012 election for Massachusetts State Senate Worcester, Hampden, Hampshire and Middlesex District. Brewer was unopposed in the September 6 Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
2010
Brewer won re-election to the Worcester, Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. Daniel Dubrule ran for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Brewer won re-election for the Senate election for the Worcester, Hampden, Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin district.[5] In this election he raised $110,865; of that total $108,336 (98.2%) was from in state contributions and $1,950 (1.8%) was from out of state contributions.[6]

Personal
Brewer was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and raised in Barre, Massachusetts. He is currently married to Valerie Brewer with two children. Brewer has been involved in a number of organizations including the Barre Library Association, Mary Lane Hospital Association, North Brookfield Sportsmen Club, North Worcester County Quabbin Anglers Association, South Barre Rod and Gun Club, Spencer Fish and Game Club and the Stetson School.[9]
