Campaign themes

2015

In an interview with columnist Rodney Beard, Caldwell highlighted the following campaign themes:[2]

Housing

  • Excerpt: "I support Nashville’s Barnes Housing Trust Fund. It should be added to the Metro's annual budget to be funded as a line-item. This will ensure it’s sustainability as an effective means of addressing the need for affordable housing."

Transportation

  • Excerpt: "I believe that Nashville should make a priority of investing in effective mass transit solutions. This would include extending bus services for workers who work evenings in our entertainment districts. There should also be a focus on developing a regional rail system that would use existing railroad tracks. This would greatly lessen the growing traffic problem in our city."
