Doug Ommen is the Iowa Commissioner of Insurance. Ommen assumed office in 2016. Ommen's current term ends on January 12, 2027.
Gov. Terry Branstad (R) appointed Ommen as the Iowa commissioner of insurance in December 2016, to replace Nick Gerhart. Ommen served as interim commissioner until becoming commissioner on January 30, 2017. He previously served as deputy insurance commissioner.[1]
