Sharon M. Belton-Cottman was a 2015 Democratic candidate for Masten District of the Buffalo Common Council in New York. The general election took place on November 3, 2015.
Biography
Belton-Cottman received a bachelor's degree from Medaille College. Her professional experience includes working as a licensed home mortgage consultant at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, substitute teacher, insurance supervisor and consultant, community lending officer and loan officer. She was elected to the Buffalo Public Schools Board in 2010.[1]

2015
The city of Buffalo, New York, held elections for city council on November 3, 2015. A primary election took place on September 10, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was July 23, 2015.[2] In the Masten District race, Ulysees O. Wingo, Sr. defeated Lamone Gibson and Sharon M. Belton-Cottman in the Democratic primary.[3] Wingo defeated Michael A. Woolford (Constitution Party) in the general election.[4] Yvette Suarez (D) also filed to run but she was removed from the ballot in early August.[5]
