Alabama held elections for four of the nine seats on the state board of education in 2018. A primary election took place on June 5, 2018. The general election was held on November 6, 2018. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to participate in the primary elections was February 9, 2018. Adam Jortner (D) and Tracie West (R) are running in the general election for District 2 on the Alabama State Board of Education.
