McBroom (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Michigan State Senate to represent District 38. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
McBroom is a former Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 108 from 2011 to 2017. He did not seek re-election to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2016 due to term limits.
Biography
McBroom earned his bachelor's degree in music education and social studies education from Northern Michigan University in 2005. His professional experience includes working as a dairy farmer and substitute teacher.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Grant Carlson was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Ed McBroom was unopposed in the Republican primary. McBroom then defeated Carlson in the general election.[4][5][6][7][8]

McBroom won election to the District 108 seat in 2010. He defeated Mike Falcon, Gaylord Jones, Brady Nelson and Bruce Rosen in the August 3 Republican primary. He defeated Judy Nerat (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[11][12]
