| Collapse all
- The fight over funding public schools in Texas will be a major issue in the next legislative session. I am 100% against vouchers as they have been presented.
- Nearly 1.7 Million Texans lost Medicaid benefits over the past year, while more than two-thirds of Texans support Medicaid expansion. I'm 100% in support of any legislation that expands Medicaid. We need that $5 billion in federal support to provide healthcare for Texans.
- We must raise the legal age to obtain assault weapons in Texas to at least 21. However, Texas law only requires buyers of any type of firearm to be 18 or older. This allows an 18-year-old to buy an assault weapon when they can't even buy a handgun. Every gun sale should require a background check. Texans can obtain guns through private sales and gun shows to avoid federal background check requirements. We have to close this loophole.
