Joan Hartley (Democratic Party) is a member of the Connecticut State Senate, representing District 15. She assumed office in 2001. Her current term ends on January 6, 2027.

Hartley earned her B.A. from Elms College and her M.A. from Trinity College. Her professional experience includes working as an educator.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Incumbent Joan V. Hartley was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Karl D. Shehu was unopposed in the Republican primary. Hartley defeated Shehu and Blair Bertaccini (Working Families) in the general election.[2][3]
