My name is Alyssa and I’m a fourth generation Coloradan who grew up in Jefferson County. My family arrived here with the railroad and laid down roots to become farmers in the San Luis Valley. Through the generations we have shared a deep love of and respect for our beautiful home state.

I spent my early career in the care industry working in early childhood education, hospice care and disability services. Even when I changed career paths into government administration I never lost sight of the people who make up the community and the importance of serving them. My time working in a City Manager's Office as an Aide and for the State of Colorado in higher education has informed my belief in the importance of local governance. I know from experience that the government is meant to serve the community, and that this gets lost when we don’t put people before politics, distracting us from the local issues.

A longtime unaffiliated voter I care about who is going to do the work and lead effectively in our district. I returned to school in 2018 to pursue a degree in Political Science. I obtained my second degree from Metro State University with distinctions. I ran my first congressional campaign in 2019. And then in 2022 I registered as a Democrat and became involved in both the local and state party. I wanted to better serve my community and I believe my background in public administration and politics will empower me to fight for the needs of residents living in HD44.
  • With a Dem majority in the Colorado House needs of communities like ours are getting lost in committee meetings and long before the voting even begins. We need a representative that can work for all the people of HD44 and also get along with their colleagues at the state. As a longtime unaffiliated voter I put people before politics and will get our district back in the conversation and our needs factored into state legislation.
  • I believe in community service and that we deserve responsible stewards of our beautiful home. This means working on Safe and Sustainable Water, Reliable Transportation and Roads and Protected Open Spaces.
  • When I am elected in the fall I will be the only AAPI representative in either the House or Senate in Colorado. Representation matters and hope to help make sure the needs of the AAPI community across the state will be better heard as more of us run for and win elected positions.
Education - from early childhood to higher education I want to address teacher pay, classroom ratios and opportunity for all Colorado students. We face very serious funding gaps which will lead to weaker communities and our students not positioned well for all of our futures.

Small Business - a long time board member of the Asian Chamber of Commerce I care deeply about how we help small businesses thrive. We know they bring jobs, character and economic growth to our communities. Policy should help them succeed and remain competitive in the economy.
Integrity and strong principles matter a great deal in elected officials. In World War II my grandfathers and other members of his family fled from the West coast and sought refugee here in Colorado. This is because of Governor Carr, the Principled Politician, and someone I admire greatly. While the Federal Government was choosing to imprison American Citizens of Japanese decent Governor Carr stood up for the Constitution and our Rights as American Citizens. He put people before his political career, before party and instead stood on his own integrity to help defend the rights of American Citizens. Those characteristics he embodied at that time are those one always should have as an elected official - courage, strength, integrity, honor and compassion.
To serve the people of your district and the state of Colorado in order to create better protections, opportunities and services for all.
My very first job was as a babysitter and then later I became a nanny. I worked in childcare for over a decade from babysitting to daycare to nannying and early childhood education. These roots in early childhood services is still a strong value in the work I do.
Checks and Balances - both must serve professionally together to serve the State of Colorado, at times acting as balances to one another and bringing about the most productive compromise on the issues.
