Campaign themes
2014
Cuccia's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
Adequate Water Supply
- Excerpt: "The lack of an Adequate Water Supply is a serious issue that demands the attention of the legislature. We must begin to address this problem immediately by employing any number of different means: We will need to employ Aquifer Recharging Technology; pass new legislation which would require that new building construction must employ proven conservation technologies; incentivize home owner water conservation, and many of the other proven conservation options."
Public Education
- Excerpt: "The quality of education that our children and grandchildren receive is probably the single most important issue of our time. It affects us economically, as well as, socially. Companies are less likely to move to an area where the children of their employees will be enrolled in a bottom-feeding educational system. Moreover, companies realize that the pool of young adults that are graduating from poorly funded Arizona k-12 schools will not meet the needs of companies requiring educated & skilled employees."
Improving Main Street Economy
- Excerpt: "I propose that we reinvest in Public Education again, require our corporations to pay a livable wage, repair our roads, & protect & restore the natural beauty for which Arizona has been known. This will spur demand, increase the Main Street Economy, and once again make Arizona a very attractive destination for companies and their families."
Women's Rights
- Excerpt: "There is a small, but well-connected segment of the state’s population that is committed to ending a Women’s Right to Choose, as well as, restricting and ending access to contraception. They will stop at nothing to get their way. We must meet their commitment head-on; we must ONCE AGAIN BECOME VIGILANT. I support a women’s right to control the If, When & How she decides to start a family. A Vote for Frank Cuccia will put into the state legislature someone who will work to restore, & protect Women’s Reproductive Rights."
The Right to Marry
- Excerpt: "Just as there is with Women’s Reproductive Rights, there is a small, but well-connected segment of the state’s population that is committed to preventing people from marrying the partner they love. This is one of those socially divisive issues that drive a wedge between fellow citizens and make Arizona a less harmonious place to live. Moreover, it makes Arizona a less desirable spot for a prospective company to move their business and their employees. It is time for the silent majority to stand up and reject these discriminatory practices, including those that propagate them. A Vote for Frank Cuccia is a vote for ensuring the all people can marry the person that they love."
