In an interview with Vote411.org, Snow made the following statements:[1]
State budgets and fiscal policy
- Excerpt: "The budget shortfall is a result of poor policies and economic decisions made by our legislature in recent years. Too many tax credits/subsidies for business/ industry, income tax reductions without appropriate safeguards, tax codes for multi-state corporations who pay little or even no tax, etc."
- Excerpt: "I think we need a complete overhaul of our budgeting process and revenue streams that support government services for our citizens. Education, health, safety, and transportation continues to be underfunded placing our citizens and future generations at risk."
Education
- Excerpt: "I would support sustainable and equitable funding streams for our public schools to ensure all children had the resources they need to do well in school. Failed leadership in Oklahoma City has put their future at risk. This could be done in multiple ways ranging from a surcharge on high-income households, removing or significantly decreasing tax credits to business that take our money out of our state, and a complete overhaul of the budgeting process in our state."
- Excerpt: "Our teacher shortage catastrophe, larger class sizes, reductions of education programs and activities, 4 day weeks, is heartbreaking. We have to invest in public education and make it a priority for the State of Oklahoma."
Incarceration
- Excerpt: "We need to be smart on crime by investing in education, rehabilitation, and community services for at-risk citizens and families. Spending almost 3 times a year to incarcerate felons than Oklahoma failed to educate is 'penny wise and pound foolish.'"
