I have lived in South Jefferson County, Colorado for over 40 years, and have worked, volunteered, and raised a family here. In addition to my experience in this community, I have visited every county in the state and come to understand and appreciate the wide variety of cultures, landscapes, economic activities, and hard-working people who make Colorado great.

I am a person of faith. Because of my faith, and out of concern for the direction that our state and country are heading, I decided to take my love of God, love for people, love for Colorado, and enthusiasm for volunteering in a new direction: Representing HD28 in the Colorado House of Representatives.

I grew up in Connecticut and came to Colorado at 17 to obtain a degree in Watershed Science from Colorado State University.

While in Fort Collins, I met a sweet fourth-generation Colorado girl, my wife Caryn of 42 years. Together we raised a daughter and son, who grew up hiking and exploring much of Colorado. Both graduated from Jeffco Public Schools. We have two beautiful grandchildren.

Together, Caryn and I also wrote four books on Colorado: two state-wide hiking guides for Falcon Press and two books for The History Press on the lost ski areas.

I have volunteered extensively in the Jefferson County Schools, and for local and international programs, including visits to Honduras, Kenya and Uganda.

You can read much more about my background on my campaign website. This is the first time I have run for public office.
  • I have the history, the experience and the guiding principles to be a great advocate for the People of Colorado and my neighbors in House District 28 in south Jefferson County.
  • My campaign motto is:

    MAKE COLORADO COLORADO AGAIN

It encapsulates my desire to restore and protect what we have always enjoyed in Colorado: freedom, affordable living, security, opportunity, and the outdoor life.
  • I will work hard to return Colorado to being a state where we all live and let live, where government is limited, and where our freedoms and rights are protected.
Illegal Immigration

Inflation and the Economy
Education and Parental Choice
Crime and Safety
Environmental Issues

You can learn more about these issues and my positions by visiting my campaign website.
Honesty, integrity, transparency.

Willingness to stand up for truth.
Love for country, state and community.
Reverence and understanding of our Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Colorado Constitution.
Knowledge of Colorado and the community being represented.

Courage, intelligence, common sense, and willingness to listen.
Read the bills before you vote on them and demand the time to do so from leadership.

Limit government to its proper role in solving only real problems that cannot be addressed outside of a government solution.
Protect economic and personal freedoms for Colorado citizens and business.
Fiscal responsibility.
Accountability to constituents.

.
That I made a positive contribution to my community, state and country.
Illegal immigration and associated impacts to community resources, safety and election integrity.

Protecting and educating children to be responsible, independent-thinking citizens.
Protecting economic freedom, freedom of speech, freedom to peacefully assemble, and 2nd Amendment rights from legislators who wish to restrict, damage or eliminate them.
Protection of the natural heritage of our beautiful state in a sensible manner.

Restoring political balance and common sense in our Legislature.
Sometimes it can be beneficial, just like experience in many types of careers and backgrounds helps.
What we need less of are career politicians. There is a reason for term limits.
Yes. Those relationships can help serve our constituents and fashion better legislation which protects our constituents.
There are so many, so I'll leave it at that.
Yes, to oversee. No to grant more use of emergency powers.
Emergency power was abused by our state and local governments during COVID, resulting in unnecessary losses to business and damage to the education of our school children.
Agriculture, Water & Natural Resources

Education
Energy and Environment

I will become informed and competent on the issues before any committee to which I am assigned.
I am in favor of transparency and accountability in all aspects of government.
Sometimes that is sorely lacking.
