Stephen Mills
Stephen Mills was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 65 of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
Biography
Mills served in the United States Army from 1987 through 2011. While enlisted, he earned his B.S. with Honors in public administration/law enforcement from Upper Iowa University, Military Campus. He served in the U.S. Army Military Policy as well as the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division. He was deployed to Iraq where he received the Bronze Star. He was commander of units in both combat and peacetime environments.[1]
After retiring from the Army in 2011, Mills became a police officer. He has also worked as a cattle rancher since 2006.[1]

Mills submitted the following statement to Ballotpedia:[1]
“ | Our Government has been overcome with Politicians building their own resumes and careers on the backs of those they have a duty to represent. What we need is less politicians and more statesmen. If elected I pledge to be a statesmen in the image of our forefathers. I will never forget my duty to represent the citizens of my district.[2] | ” |

2014
Elections for the Oklahoma House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 11, 2014. Toni Hasenbeck was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Scott Hayes and Scooter Park advanced past Renae Sexton and Stephen Mills in the Republican primary. Park defeated Hayes in a runoff election on August 26, 2014. Park defeated Hasenbeck in the general election.[3][4][5]
