  • In February 2014, Nevada announced that it would not "defend its ban against same-sex marriage, saying its legal position has been 'undermined' in a series of rulings that began last June with a historic U.S. Supreme Court ruling recognizing gay marriages," according to CNN. Brian Sandoval chose not to continue fighting to protect Nevada's gay marriage ban.[1]
  • In 2011, Sandoval signed SB 331, which prohibits "unlawful discrimination based on sex and gender identity or expression in places of public accommodation."[2]
  • In 2011, Sandoval signed SB 368, which prohibits "discrimination in housing and certain other transactions involving real property on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression."[3]
